Once you have opened all those gift boxes, I’m sure most you want to get rid of your empty boxes right away. However, you might want to reconsider just placing empty boxes on the street given its an advertisement to would-be criminals that this location has a new TV, computer, etc. Spend a little extra time cutting up boxes and placing them within your trash containers to avoid advertising to potential criminals.
Given there are “porch pirates” in our area, you might need to reconsider your options for package deliveries. Several options include: letting USPS hold your packages until you pick them up; directing that packages not be delivered unless someone in your house signs for it; using Amazon’s locker delivery system; etc. Bottom line — the old delivery way of merely leaving a package by the door is not appropriate anymore due to criminal activities.
