Ocean View Beach Park’s 2012 Summer Activities runs from Memorial Day to the Labor Day. The attached schedule depicts some of the scheduled activities.

An update on the proposed new apartment complex and super yacht pier on Pretty Lake Ave follows: The proposed complex needed a modification to an existing wetland permit before construction could begin — the Norfolk Wetlands Board reviewed the requested modification on April 11, 2012 and denied the modified permit. The requested modification was then appealed to the Virginia Marine Resources Commission, which reviewed and approved the request on May 22, 2012. The Virginia Marine Resources Commission directed the Norfolk Wetlands Board to issue the modified wetlands permit. This should be the final action needed prior to construction on this project.

The Farmers’ Fare Market will begin its 2012 season on Saturday May 19th and will be open each Saturday from 9AM to 12PM until October 20th. The market is located in East Beach at 4730 Hammock Lane.
