Flood Insurance Rate Maps Changes & Flood Information
FEMA, working with Norfolk, has been updating flood maps for our area — these updated maps will be available soon. In the interim, you can go to Norfolk websites to review flood information to include inserting your address to see what flood area you are in — additionally, these websites provide information on upcoming meetings and appeal processes. Websites are: www.norfolk.gov/FIRMupdate and www.norfolk.gov/flooding.

Street Safety “ALERT”
If you use 30th Bay St between Pleasant Ave and Pretty Lake Ave, use extreme caution transiting the speed humps. Norfolk is making adjustments to the humps to prevent street flooding — the humps were not properly installed.
October 2014 BOD Meeting Announcement
The October 2014 Bay Breeze Point BOD monthly meeting will be held on October 20th at the East Ocean View Recreation Center, 9520 E. 20th Bay St, Norfolk, VA beginning at 6:00 PM.
EOV Civic League Meeting Announcement
Everyone is cordially invited to attend the October EOV Civic League meeting. Our Ward 5 Councilman, Mr. Tommy Smigiel, will be the guest speaker. He’ll be addressing upcoming development activities in our area, and will allow time for Q&A. The meeting is held at the EOV Recreation Center at 9520 20th Bay Street — starting promptly at 7:00 p.m. and finishing no later than 8:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend!
Additionally, everyone is invited to attend the EOV Civic League annual Open House/Membership Drive to be held at Jessy’s Taqueria at 3201 E. Ocean View Avenue on Wednesday night, 22 October (7 to 9 p.m.) Hope to see you there.
Neighborhood Watch “ALERT”
At 12:30 AM this morning a suspicious tow truck was observed driving slowly in our community. This suspicious activity was reported to police and the police responded with two units. No report on whether this tow truck driver was merely lost at 12:30 AM or if the driver was looking for criminal opportunities. If you see suspicious activity, report it (9-1-1) and let the police sort out the situation.
