“TRAFFIC ALERT”
As you might know, the new apartment complex just off Pretty Lake Ave near 30th Bay St will break ground soon. Given all the other construction in the area, this construction project (East Beach Marina Apartment complex) could impact the accessibility of our community. If you use 30th Bay St and 29th Bay St, you might want to use alternate avenues during the most congested construction times. Additionally, later this year, East Beach will begin Phase 7 which is the area running along Shore Drive — this construction will impact us as well. The BOD has requested a city official to attend our annual HOA meeting and brief us on these projects and the plans for Pleasant Ave near Fountain Park.

Invitation to Attend the September and October EOV Civil League Meetings

Everyone is cordially invited to the EOV Civic League meeting this Thursday evening at the EOV Recreation Center on 20th Bay Street (where we vote). Meetings begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. and will conclude by 8:30 p.m. Our special guest speaker will be Mr. Jim McDonnell, Candidate for Norfolk City Treasurer. Ms. Maravia Reid, Community Outreach Coordinator, Norfolk Police Dept., will also be there to mention the nominations process for the 2013 Crime Prevention Awards; as well as Mr. Harry Bennett, Norfolk Department of Public Health, to talk about a couple community health issues. Safety Alert
We are experiencing safety issues with unlicensed motorized vehicle operators within both our community and East Beach. Norfolk and Virginia law requires that all operators of motorized vehicles (this includes golf carts) on public streets have a valid Virginia Drivers License. Norfolk Police will issue violations and take appropriate actions on non-licensed drivers found operating motorized vehicles on Norfolk public streets.
